since i haven't been "writing about the war"... i would like to welcome those folks from blogs of war and the the command post to my humble little home... hey... how's it going?
i keep saying that i am not going to write about the war... eh... then i find myself popping a tape into the vcr and taping rumsfeld's briefing (a groupie. yes.) while i head off to a wedding... i plan on scouring that tape today for my favourite quote... i found myself grabbing my comforter off my bed and going in to lay on my couch so i could watch the news... i woke up with a crick in my neck *sigh*
at the wedding last night i met a couple - the husband works for Good Morning America... i wound up talking about the where is raed? blog and the us soldiers that are blogging... i actually didn't mention my site last night (*didn't want the F4 or anyone he knows to see how much i have been trashing him...) the wife says to me "so you can email this person in iraq and apologize that we're over there bombing?"
"eh... well, i wouldn't say that i would apologize since i believe in what the US is doing... but if you want to email..."
anyway - there i am chatting away... they're all like "blog?..." (i didn't get into it too much) and then i discuss my rumsfeld quote [laughter... before she started trashing my boy, donald... oh no one says he's evil oh no she didn't just!]- mention how brokaw is looking like rumsfeld slightly... and then the husband is telling me that ted koppel is sleeping on the hood of a tank since he's embedded with one of the troops on the frontline... he's around 63... crazy man.
i sort of let it slip out "i don't really watch the war coverage on ABC because while everyone else was covering it live on wednesday when stuff hit the fan... what was ABC running??? The Bachelor"
he agreed that they don't show much live coverage.
the jury's still out on who the next "scud stud" will be for Gulf II... any nominations? kevin sites is looking to be a frontrunner - possibly because he has a blog (although he suspended posting as of yesterday because CNN got a little growly - that's why i prefer FOXnews... just this morning the one anchor said that a few reporters were being "snarky" to Franks... snarky... heh)
