wind whipping through my hair

so, i headed over to the point side of manasquan inlet... wow... it was jampacked with onlookers...

unfortunately, i had to relinquish my camera (well, technically, it's the work camera) yesterday to my boss who was heading to FL for a meeting... so no photos

but, it was great.... the smell is great.... the salt water whooshing everywhere... my yankees cap blew off my head and almost landed in the drink, but luckily some rugrat ran after it and caught it (hmmmmm.... kids seem to be useful that way.... gotta get me one of those in a few years)

the waves.... about 20 feet high (well, from my vantage point they were) and they were crashing over both sides of the jetty...

god, i am glad to be back down here. it just wouldn't be the same if i were up in JC saying "well, there were a few puddles and the homeless guys are having trouble pushing their carts in the wind"

this guy i work with - well his father moved down to manasquan this spring - total benny... okay, well, he lives on the GlimmerGlass (which is a body of water in 'squan that flows into the manasquan river, blah blah blah) the area floods if someone looks at the full moon crosseyed...

well, Mr. My-dad-bought-a-house-and-is-perfect sniffed at my suggestions that they take a few precautions to help the house through the storm (about 5 huge plate glass windows overlooking the glimmerglass - which this jackass calls "the bay" - there is no effing bay in squan - but i don't correct him because i want others to realize he's not from here.) his dad just flew to europe on monday... so i said, you may want to put some tape or something on the windows and maybe move his cars to higher ground...

he says "oh, well they're andersen windows and he has a land rover so it'll be okay"

eh... good luck, buddy... but my friend's parents lost 3 cars in the nor'easter in 93 after they just moved down from edison because they thought they'd be okay...

then he says "well dad's neighbors said they've never had a flooding problem since they've been there"

heh... and how long ago did the neighbours move there? 9 years ago when the development was built? (most likely from up north)

"yes."

so, they never had to deal with the nor'easter of 93 and haven't experienced a hurricane or anything of a decent magnitude?

"the house will be fine, we are leaving the patio furniture out there too"

um.... well.... good luck....

i said all i could... but this is the same guy who wrote this piece of poetry...

so, high tide will be happening in manasquan around 2:23am

now, i am not a vindictive person, but all i am asking for is a small window to break or maybe a liiiiiiittle flooding... just so he steps off his highhorse a bit... is that too much to ask? i only want the damage to happen to his place.... that's all, no one elses...

would it be odd to throw a brick through a window with a note that reads "Isabel was here. Dont eff with me!"

yeah, i suppose that's a bit much.
