was stuck behind some idiot in a white corolla with handicapped tags this morning. she went 7 mph (SEVEN) and then she apparently found the only invisible stop sign in manasquan.

what does this mean? it means that she wasted 3 minutes of my time, thus causing me to view the tail end of the 7:20am train pulling out of the station (even after I totally pulled an illegal Irish Job move and cut in front of her and the Emporer's New Stop Sign.)

so, I am on the RRE. and will be getting into the office at 10:15 if I am lucky... yesterday's 7:20am actually got into penn station at 9:16... three minutes ahead of schedule... keep your fingers crossed the RRE has that bit of luck.

last night's 5:58pm got me into belmar around 8:30... 25 min late. and I had to go to the hospital to visit aunt ann.

it's her 76th birthday today.

how is she celebrating? she's getting two angioplastic stints put into her heart. I mentioned she had a heartattack on saturday, right?

she seemed in good spirits last night when I got there. they're transporting her over to Jersey Shore Med Center this morning. in fact she should be in the OR right now.

hoping she's alright. she's a cool cat. has the farm in farmingdale... bred and raised goldens & labs, raised sheep, rabbits, chickens, goats, pigs and had horses (think that's where I was bitten by the horse bug)

she was telling me last night that she wants to get both hips replaced because she's been having trouble "sitting on the tractor and mowing the fields"... yes. 76 today.

she's the one I used to pray to God about... saying "please let me be like aunt ann with her white hair, wrinkles and horses"... i've had 7 horses, started going gray at 25, and am waiting for the craggy face to hit soon.

yeah. He hears that prayer.

anyway... she's been telling me what she's leaving me and while that's all well and nice, I don't want any of that stuff for a while... don't want to even think of her will having to be read for another 15-20 years...

usually I head over to the farm with my dad... I dunno... I think she intimidates me... but after visiting her by myself in the hospital I think I can cut the shop apron strings and head over there by myself more.

she knows a lot of the history of my family... dad sorta defers to her on that stuff.

apparently, my great-grandmother, annie height bennett, was a Huguenot... so I have to check in with that society. she was also one of 17 children. this was just discovered. she was also born on the property that was my family's old golf course (in a house)... and was President of the NJ chapter of the DAR (daughters of the american revolution)

so that's cool. I already knew on my grandmom's side that I am related to benedict arnold (i've mentioned this before)

anyway. switching trains now.
