November 1, 2006

all saint's day

been working non-stop all day.

happy post-halloween.

don't forget to rabbit-rabbit first thing in the morning.

do re mi eff you so la te do

well, i suppose most of the comments on my singing were kind...

and to those that left nasty comments telling me to get singing lessons... well, maybe if i was trying to be a fucking singer, i would invest in them.

i was goofing around and having FUN on my site and pretty much just letting my readers know that that singshot.com website is out there to have FUN singing on.

so, no, i am not wasting my money on singing lessons (not to mention the fact that half the time i was recording this stuff was in the middle of the night.)

for those who DID leave crapass comments on MY site pertaining to my singing (i understand some of you were poking fun in a silly way) but for those crapass ones, how about you go on singshot and record your own songs and i would LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE for you to post the url in the comments here.

or don't you have the effing balls?

in the meantime... i am running late, i have to go meet Ted Kennedy.

singing lessons?! BAH! bite me.

actually the guy who is rated the top recording for this song kicks ass.

getting off the couch......

well, it's the day after the NYC Marathon. it was exhausting... watching half of that marathon.

yes, i sat on the fluffy, comfy couch with my free dunkin donuts iced coffee (they were giving them out in honor of the marathon, so i sort of participated i feel.) and giant sized bag of cheez doodles. oh and my bacon egg & cheese sammich. um, and my pork roll and cheese sammich.

it was a good marathon.

and now i think i am going to train for the real one next year.

going to slap on the jog bra and head over to the reservoir here in Brick and see if i can't at least walk around the darned thing once. no, it's not a 26.2 mile circumference. in fact, i've never been there.

so, i figure, if Pee Wee could do it last year and if some chick that just recently recovered from breast cancer (that the Today Show followed around while she trained for the first time) could do it, i sure as hell could at least try to give myself a year.

maybe.

only 23.4 miles to go

well, i drove to the reservoir... only to find out that they had some sort of police investigation going on and it was closed... rather than say "well, it's God's way of saying don't exercise", i headed down to the Spring Lake Boardwalk.

I parked at the end... and walked...

i can make it to the end.

i think.

i mean, i'm only walking.

why am i wheezing?

nice waves out there today. beautiful out. jeezuz, how far have i walked?

okay, i can walk fast past this lady with the cane.

i think.

jeezuz she must have just eaten a power bar, why's she walking so fast?

am i having a heart attack?

how far have i walked so far?

okay, i've hit the first pavillion... keep going. you can make it to belmar. wait. it seems so much closer in the car. what the hell?

okay, take that lady with the cane, i've passed you now, eat my dust!

jeezuz how far is this boardwalk? never used to be this long.

i can't even see the gates to belmar.

oh, whew, i've made it to the pool (there's a pool on the boardwalk)

okay. screw it. don't wear yourself out, erin... belmar's another mile. turn around.

crap. you mean i have to walk back to the car?

yes.

mother of......

ANYWAY..... THAT is the basic gist of my first "training session"

i wound up driving from where i started to where i turned around and then drove back to see how far i walked.

2.8 miles... which, hey, i will accept that. it's better than nothing.

then i went home and had a bacon & egg sammich.

22.6 miles to go!

this morning i got up and headed off to the spring lake boardwalk again... you know, for my marathon training.

so i wound up walking 3.6 miles. which if you remember my last "training" session 2 weeks ago, i walked 2.8 miles... the one 2 weeks ago i didn't have my ipod on or anything... this time i did - and i'd bought a CardioCoach CD which i imported onto the ipod... gave me a half hour of get-your-ass-in-gear type of training... so that felt good. did the half hour thing on the first leg of the walk, then i listened to about 35 minutes of the Success Principles by jack canfield.

i have to tell ya' - it's gotten me thinking a bunch... it's a good kick in the seat of the pants

anyway - i haven't been on here much over the past week and a half because i've been working my tail off.

what's been going on? well, last weekend i hightailed it out to Lafayette, Colorado to see my friend Jenn who i went to high school with... she'd gotten married in Reno on oct 24th and her mom had a reception for her and her husband eric. My first time meeting him - and i approve... seems like a swell egg. (will get my photos up tomorrow)

after the reception we went to some bar in Niwah (i think) all i know is i wound up drinking Dirty Nuts all night (or for those of you without your head in the gutter, Toasted Almonds) unfortunately most os saturday was spent on Jenn's couch or next to the toilet praying to God.

then last sunday before i wound up sitting in denver airport for a few hours, i met up with Susan of Colagrl fame - after reading her site for years and sharing a birthday with her, i finally met her! awesome! unfortunately we only had an hour or two to kill before i had to head to the airport - but we did breakfast and it was fantastic to meet this chick... (again... photos will be posted tomorrow. she's got pics up on her site - but, i must tell you, i was haggard looking)

in any event, i wanted to take a sec to finally sit down and post... i've been slacking.

now i am going to pass out... perhaps i will walk 4 miles tomorrow.

November 20, 2006

i swear i thought she was in her 30s.

holy crap! i was watching the today show right now and ann curry is 50 years old.

wow.

November 21, 2006

i think exercise is making me sick

well i was feeling slightly under the weather today - tickle in my throat... start of a cough... but i went to the boardwalk - this time with Beri (my yorkie) and i only walked a half mile on the sand with her...

it's progressively gotten worse throughout the day - so now i'm hopped up on the mucinex.

seriously, i hate the name of the stuff.

will see how i feel in the morning, i actually WANT to go walk
(i must have a fever.)

November 23, 2006

happy turkey lurkey day, folks!

in the tradition of gigglechick.com, i present you with the best song on this day....

um.. then again there... eh.. me:

November 28, 2006

I AM GAINING WEIGHT TO GIVE EBERT A RUN FOR HIS MONEY.

okay this post will have a few layers.... the most important layer is the last part you'll read

first off, i'm living on about 4 hours sleep over the past week. had the flu for most of the week... and thus, my addiction to cherry-flavoured nyQuil is back and better than ever. oh yes. mmmmmmmmmmm....

i picked up 2 new clients this week... and have been designing like a chicken with its head cut off... wait... um... oh hell, you know what i meant.

thanksgiving was great - went to my godsister's house for the day and she's got my favourite kid in the world - seriously, this 4 year old is the best ever... cute as heck, funny as hell, manners to die for, really swell kid.

saw The Queen with one of my ex-boyfriends on Friday night.. was supposed to go back out with him on saturday, but the flu reared it's sniffly head once again - apparently it wanted to ruin my weekend.

that said..... here's some important stuff... TBS sent me previews of two of their new shows that are on this season...

10 ITEMS OR LESS

one, 10 Items or Less, premiered last night. maybe it's me, but, yesterday afternoon when i was sitting down with the preview dvd, i had an open mind and tried to give it a chance. i tried.

here's the thing, i love Curb Your Enthusiasm, i love The Office. But, i just couldn't get into 10 Items. In fact, I didn't even keep the first episode on --- so, perhaps this review is a little unfair.

Wait... no, i wound up watching the premiere at 11pm last night (monday) on TBS and i figured "well, maybe i was just tired and cranky earlier and didn't find things funny". That wasn't it. I sat thru through the half hour and it didn't hold my attention, it annoyed me.

I will, however, say that there were a few lines in it where I chortled, nay, chuckled.

To be fair, I will sit down with a few more of the episodes that were sent and see if I get sucked in... perhaps yesterday was an off day. I will admit that it took me a little while to become addicted to Curb Your Enthusiasm, so, who knows...

10 ITEMS OR LESS REVIEW: Inconclusive due to Flu & Annoyance. First Thoughts: "Oh cripes, I have to sit through this?"

on the other hand.............. Premiering TONIGHT at 10pm est / 9pm c on TBS is My Boys

MY BOYS

Let me preface this by saying, even IF Jim Gaffigan was NOT in the show, I would watch My Boys. But, since he IS in the show, there's a higher chance that I will sit and watch the show every week. Before I delve into this review, I just want to put this out into the universe, My Boys NEEDS to have more Jim Gaffigan.

The show, to me, is just a really great, funny, truthful, pleasant (not "pleasant" in a "Oh, he's got a good personality" type of pleasant. Wait. Did that make sense?). Anyway, I really liked the show. I sat though all the previews back to back - and was actually pissed off that there were only a few episodes that I was able to watch on the dvd.

PJ (played by Jordana Spiro) is actually a decent character. Okay, let me rewind... premise of the show is a chick (a sportswriter based in Chicago) who is mainly surrounded by a group of friends who are all guys. Well, there's one other friend who is a girl... a girly girl (played by Kellee Stewart). But other than that cloud of perfume and heels, it's pretty much chock full of testosterone. Going back to PJ, actually, she didn't annoy me. Now, being a woman whose friends are 95% men (mentally, boys.) I can relate to her character and how she acts. Seems like a good egg - translation: I did not feel the desire to bitch slap her. She was likeable.

The Boys. Ladies, I am just saying, you might want to tune into the show. PJ's friends - her boys - consist of Jamie Kaler (Mike), Kyle Howard (Bobby), Reid Scott (Brendan) and Michael Bunin (Kenny). The one "built-in" friend is her brother Andy (played by Jim Gaffigan) who is the married one in the group. Unfortunately, we don't see Gaffigan as much as we should. His talent needs to be utilized much more than it is. I'm just sayin'.

So, what have we learned, kids? Yes. You need to watch (or set yourtivo/dvr/vcr doohickey) TONIGHT at 10pm est / 9pm c on TBS the premiere of MY BOYS.

By the way, even Gigglemom sat down and enjoyed this show. I love my mother to death, but, she can be a very hard sell. The fact that this show has been stamped with the Gigglemom Seal of Approval means something.

MY BOYS REVIEW: WATCH THE SHOW TONIGHT. Come back here and let me know what you thought of it. Will you watch it again next week?

are you alive?

seriously, are my comments working?

November 30, 2006

BECAUSE IT'S THAT TIME OF THE MONTH... i think

wait. no. what the? i frigging missed my "friend" this month.

hold your horses, folks, don't go combing though my wish list looking for baby monitors and booties to send me... it's because i had changed ABVs (anti-baby vitamins) a few months ago and the friend is supposed to hightail it outta here after two or 3 days. apparently this month she stood me up. what the hell? here i was, all ready for her, new batch of OB tampons at the ready and she didn't call, she didn't write... nothing.

oh well, i am sure next month she'll stay extra long through the holidays. bitch.

that said... good to know that the comments were working in the last post...

i'd like to address a few things...

1.] gaffigan. if you don't like me promoting gaffigan (or tom papa, or steven wright or any other clients of mine) then lump it and move on. quit yer bitchin'.

2.] the commute. for those hoping to still hear about my perils of a 4 hour commute each day, sorry, but, since I've started my own company and am working at home 100% of the time now, the worst you might hear is if i stubbed my toe on the bed if i was rushing to answer the phone. but, i'll TRY to create scenerios where you'll get to laugh at my expense still. i promise.

3.] the fat off. yes, you realize whose effing comment i am directing this post to at this point, right folks? anyway... i've mentioned The Fat Off, hopefully this is the final nail in my favourite person in the peanut gallery's coffin and they can move on to a different site. so be it. that said... at the moment the fat is on. and i miiiiight start dealing with a fat off come january, but at the moment, i am working from about 10am til about 3:30am (yes. i said A.M.) so it's been a bit difficult to contribute to the fat off at this point.

4.] singshot. hey, i found the site. i post my caterwauling when i feel like it. my podcast site was turned off for a bit and i am reinstating it, so for now every so often i will be posting the vocal stylings of gigglechick. since i have been swamped, it was a 2 minute moment where i could release a little stress and then share the idiocy with y'all. if you don't want to hear any songs, don't click on them.

5.] i am winning my office football pool.

6.] i have to get the hell back to work. i am broke as effing hell and robbing from peter to pay paul on bills and such. didn't realize that the first few months of starting up the new biz would take me into the red. i spent 3 days in colorado and it set me back a bunch of $$ and i fell a few days behind with work (now caught up) but i've not had any sleep and i've had the flu (better now, thanks) and took a moment to write on here.

let's get some shoes...
