that's right. the big brother finale is tonight at 9pm (eastern, folks) and at 10pm i will be free of this monkey on my back.
of course, Kid Nation starts tomorrow and Survivor starts this Thursday :}
but those aren't 24/7 live feeds. thank GOD.
right now i am sick as a dog. i'm not sure, but i think maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe lack of sleep might have something to do with it. not sure.
of course, it might just be allergies, but, i'm feeling pretty punky with chills (yes. they're multiplying), etc - not the normal allergy sore throat & sneezing to the point of wanting to rip my nose off and douse it in ammonia for 2 hours.
i DID venture out of the house this past saturday night with my friends, jude & fran. went to a place in Belmar called Brandl. (too lazy to post the link... bsically google BRANDL in belmar nj)
it was like i stepped into an episode of Top Chef (yes. one of my OTHER favorite reality shows!!! wednesdays, 10pm on Bravo)
i had an Heirloom Tomato Corn Soup with Lump Crabmeat... followed by the Lazy Lobster over Asparagus Risotto drizzled in Vanilla Bean Butter.
sweet heavens to mergatroid... if i didn't have to put my left kidney up for collateral to buy this dish, i would eat it every day.
but our waiter... nice guy, excellent service, round head, going slightly bald, jovial type o' fella. very attentive etc.
after dinner and doing the check thing i went to the ladies' room and when i came back, Jude handed me a form to fill out - i think it was for a mailing list or preferred customer thing, no idea, i just filled the thing out (didn't ask for a social security # so i was okay)
it asked to list the server's name. I asked jude & fran if they knew... and they said "Nick"
it was then that something popped in my head...and i said "Oh crap, I think i dated him"
(this happens a lot. note in 2003 i forgot i dated a guy that i wound up meeting at the parade... first sunday in march, let your fingers do the walking through the archives)
yep. sure enough, we were walking out and the manager asked if the meal was dandy and of course, yes... so i asked "is Nick's last name **********?" and he was like "Yes, how do you know him?"
Luckily Nick came by at that time, and i said "Nick **********?" (it's easy to pronounce the asterisks.) and he said "Yeah?" and I said "Erin Bennett"
to which he said "Oh my God it was driving me crazy you looked so familiar but i didn't know if it was from the restaurant, etc"
blah blah blah. he's been married for 3 years. no kids. bought a house in the town my dad lives in...
hell, it's been 19 years since we dated... (not sure if i mentioned my senior prom story, but he was a main character in it... i'll try to scrape it up in the archives, if not, i'll retell it when i am not hopped up on nyQuil)
(the Big Brother live feeds have trivia on them right now, so i can't see anything that's going on... thus, the reason for the bit of yammering...)

OH!!!! Fran and I split a Chocolate Souffle for 2 at Brandl --- it was a good portion, but, who are we kidding? I could've just scarfed that puppy down by myself... but nooooooooo, i had to "be a laaaaady" and share. Cripes that was fantastic, too.

Thank you for the trip to Brandl’s in Belmar and an introduction to the cuisine. Not that I would ever get there, the twins changed our annual October trip to Washington or Gettysburg on the premise I might not have the physical stamina to make the trip. We are now going to an island called Edisto off the coast of South Carolina – probably have a dang hurricane come along for the ride!
Here is hoping I may get to Belmar one day if not in the physical form I may just make it in a spectral form… Good eating…

So, how did you feel about the show last night? My absolute favorite part was the reveal of America's Player. I loved the shocked looks on everyone's faces! I have to say, I am glad that Dick won. I expected it before the show started but was worried once it started. Wasn't sure how it was going to come out! I didn't get the feeds this year. I relied on people like you to keep me updated. It amazes me that the mods complain about needing people to help with updates but, obviously, don't appreciate the ones that are doing it!
I can't wait for Kid Nation and Survivor!! I am addicted to Reality TV also!!

YAY!! Dick won!! I was so excited after the vote I actually sat there and clapped! What a dork! I think it's crappy what they did to you at Joker's. I never really liked that site anyways. Get some rest and feel better!
