just got back from the gym. i think i may need to invest in one of those voice activated typing things on the computer because i'm not sure as to how much longer i'm going to be able to lift my arms up to the keyboard.
before the session...
did the elliptical for 7:30 min. (842 strides / 54.7 calories)
then the treadmill, only did 15:15 min. walking (.867 miles / 91.1 cal)
THEN the training session started:
started out doing alternating lunges on the step thing. 2 sets/ 12 reps
then used an exercise ball while i did wall squats (2 sets/12 reps)
followed by push-ups... but they weren't on the floor. there was a bar or something that was lowered to about hip level. then i did the push-ups on that... 2 sets / 12 reps
seated row... 2 sets/ 12 reps/ 25 lbs
chest press - 2 sets / 10 reps / 10 lbs (each hand)
overhead extension - 2 sets / 10 reps / 5 lbs (each hand)
hamstring curl - 2 sets / 12 reps / 20 lbs
leg press - 2 sets/ 12 reps / 80 lbs
so that was it for the weight training... NEXT UP was the abs...
dear God, the abs.
laying back on the Bosu ball/half sphere thing... 2 sets / 12 reps. ---at first they were alright, then my abs were like "um... a little help here!"
and then she got it in her head to have me lay on my back with the big exercise ball between my feet (and up in the air) and had to hold a small (5 pounds i think) medicine ball up as well... that's not all, i had to touch the medicine ball to the ball that my feet were holding. that fucking killed. it's not a big move, but, you can definitely feel it beating the frig out of your abs. 2 sets / 12 reps
then another core exercise was where i had to lay on my back, put my heels on the large exercise ball, then lift my body up in a straight line. 2 sets / 12 reps
one last item was The Plank. I had to lay on my stomach, have my forearms on the ground, then raise my body up in a straight line using my toes and forearms.did that 2 reps/ 20 seconds each.
and then she helped me stretch. actually pushing me around for 5 minutes. apparently i am very flexible (she was surprised. i told her i have flexi-fat)
and with that, i went home... had a scrambled egg on wheat toast and some tea.
my next personal training session is friday morning.
TONIGHT: BIGGEST LOSER FINALE!!! wooooo!! (go Bill. go Julie!)
On a sad note, today is the 10 year anniversary of Chris Farley's death. For those of you who've read my blog for a while, i usually post something about him on this day. Yeah yeah, i had a crush on him. Anyway, rest in peace, Tommy Boy. *sigh* GO VISIT THE CHRIS FARLEY FOUNDATION

Whatchoosayin'?? (3 yapped)
Wow! I can't believe it has been an entire decade since Chris left us! He was great.....
Hang in there GC, the workouts "will eventually" get easier.

WOW GC that is quite a workout for a beginner ... aren't you glad you joined the gym? (you don't have to answer that) Keep up the good work and you'll do fine.

Let's go over the chest press, so was this like the Janet Jackson Rolling Stone boob holding pose? or just like mashing 'em up against a wall?
[note from GC: har dee har har. HERE: here's a picture of what i did.]
