just got home from the gym.
yeah, you read that correctly. the gym.
i had my initial personal training session this morning at 10am. had to get assessed.
yeah, measurements were taken... and yes, it's a good thing that i joined the gym. she also tested out my form while i worked out.
apparently my hip flexors are tight... which, as it turns out, isn't great. supposedly that makes my glutes weak. yes, i have a weak ass.
i had to stand on this squishy half sphere Bosu Ball type of thing... a stability thing. so i had to balance on that and then do dumbbells... she said that if i do weights while ON the bosu (or even sitting on an exercise ball) that it becomes a total workout instead of just the arms or whatever. because trying to balance on these things causes you to tighten muscles - like abs and butt - while you lift)
i also did 5 minutes on the elliptical (yeah, i know. only 5 minutes. but this was the first time ever on the elliptical --- mind you this was after the training session was over.) and then i walked on the treadmill for 22 minutes (1 mile - my knees were still slightly weird, so i was going slow)
sooooooooooooo... i signed up for 7 personal training sessions with her. my first two are next week. Tuesday at 11 and Friday at 11. I have to do my own cardio and then the session will start and i will be working out for an hour with her.
maybe that's silly, but, hey, it can't hurt. at least i didn't sign up for 30 sessions...
i just ate a scrambled egg on whole wheat toast.
yeah yeah yeah, i'm probably going to go back to weight watchers starting monday... hell, i've been paying for it monthly anyway.

Whatchoosayin'?? (5 yapped)
good for you
[note from GC: thanks!!]

The told me my hips were tight too! Showed me a fancy way to stretch them where it looks somewhat like I am trying to pleasure myself on a Stability ball hahahaha Also discovered I have absoluely no balance while standing on the half dome. I think it is great that you bought the training sessions, I am thinking I will start up again after the new year... I need someone to make me do weights or I will find a reason not to have the time. So happy for you, now quit fighting for last place in the nike plus challenge HA!

GREAT! I think that signing up for a few sessions with the personal trainer to start is a really good idea. It is harder to slack off when you have someone being paid to push you, lol. Also a good choice to get back in the WW swing and get this weight loss started with a 1, 2 punch. I know you can do it GC and the reunion is a really good motivator to have creeping up on you. Stay strong girl and don't try to deprive yourself of small indulgences during the holidays because at least for me that tends to backfire. I'm in your corner cheering you on all the way!!
