so, i am now officially a member of WOW!
for a year.
yeah, they got me. whatever. it was only $71 to sign up and it's $24/month --- then after a year it's a month to month thing.
the guy who signed me up was a good egg and i have a personal training session on friday morning at 10am
i already warned her that my knees are wonky. she asked if i ran on a treadmill or outside. said "outside" and she said "yeah that's why. the impact" ----- yeah, the impact of my 210lb frame miiiiiiiiight eff my knees up.
anyway, there's TONS of equipment. LOTS of cardio machines. they've got a spinning class room (the guy told me "the first time you do the spinning is AWFUL. but it gets better. but the first time is HORRIBLE" --- ya' sold me on it right there, buddy.
right now i've got heat packs on my knees (probably should be icing them. i don't know. they were feeling better today... but i'm just getting a little heat therapy on these puppies before friday.)
the other room where the group fitness classes are is huge. i'm kinda excited about this!
the key card is already on my key chain. woo!!
(i just ate a cheeseburger and fries with gravy... sort of a last hurrah...)
i've got the GOP IOWA DEBATE on the tee vee right now... first off, what the hell is alan keyes doing on there? second, Fred Thompson is the biggest blowhard. Third, the moderator is a tough cookie.

Whatchoosayin'?? (5 yapped)
GC long time reader and comment once a year, so here is my quota for 2007. With regards to WOW, if you get an email from them and there is a link, click it. It will help freeze the dues (this little trick I learned when I was being hired for sales there 3 years ago).
Good luck, start slow, make sure if you hire the trainer, they do not do a "box workout" with you and that it is tailored to you. Best of luck!
[note from GC: thanks! haven't gotten an email from 'em yet... DID just sign up for 7 training sessions... the Jump Start...]

Welcome to the dark-side honey! I hope you enjoy it (your gym membership) as much as I do (my gym). Remember to go slow and steady. I had 2 years of start, stop, start, stop etc because I went too hard too fast. Since I have decided to take the time to target the weak muscles and balance them against their stronger opposing muscles, I have remained injury free.

Can't wait to hear how the WOW works out for you! I would love to have the means and availability of a gym to belong to. Alas, living in nowhereville, there are no options, lol. Go get em GC, you are gonna rock that reunion next year!
