Gigglechick, You are doing awesome! I have issues with clutter as well. I can organize other peoples' stuff but have a hard time with my own stuff (go figure)! Anyway, I think that the biggest hurdle with trying to get organized is the thinking that it has to be perfect. I'm trying to use the motto of "Progress, not perfection" when it comes to organizing and also my weight loss battle (just rejoined WW last week). I'm rooting for you!
I've always stopped by now and then to read your blog. Since this clutter posting, I'm addicted. It's like crack! Why am I checking back multiple times a day to see the updates? Crying inside because you didn't say how many bags of trash went out?
Thanks a bunch, now I'm hooked on watching declutter. Start your own show, make millions :)
One idea, the Salvation Army does pick ups for donations. Call them, schedule a pick up and then just put piles and piles by your front door. They'll load it all up and take it away for you!
I have been looking at what is hanging on that door now for the past few days and am curious as to what is on there? Is it a bunch of paints? Who is the crafty one? You or giggle mom?
[note from GC: ding ding ding! you are correct! it's a very organized hanging paint holder. they're gigglemom's... ]
have you ever tried the Fly lady 15 minutes theory - I find the full on fly Lady experiance far too much for me (all pink and frilly), but her theory of decluttering / tidying for just 15 minutes really works... I too am slowely getting on top of my clutter.
That green chest that's apeared in teh 2nd picture is nice, that will look really good when it's all visable :-)
Whatchoosayin'?? (5 yapped)
