The before picture was kind of cute, but do you actually think that the short hair makes you sexier? Maybe that was a bad choice of term...attractive?
Ok, I understand that you are an intelligent person who has a lot going for her, and your only purpose in life is not to make guys horny. But don't you want to look a little attractive to the opposite sex? Wouldn't you feel good walking into a bar and turn some guys heads? Do you really think that this short "old school teacher" haircut is going to do that?
Seriously GC, IMHO, it just makes you look older. I'll bet you that if you were to ask, at least 7 out of 10 guys would prefer the "before" image. Strangely, I'd also bet that 7 out of 10 girls would like the after picture better (ok if that's your thing).
Would it really hurt you to grow the hair to mid back level, and put on a stitch of makeup every now and then?

Well, I have to say that it looks great and really draws attention to your eyes and you have beautiful brown eyes!
And being nosy, do you have a cowlick right at the part? The reason that I ask is that I have one and am constantly fighting my it. I managed to pass the cowlick on to one of my sons who passed it onto one of his sons.

I agree with Karen, your bone structure is fabulous and is shown off with the shaping of your hair.
Your hair is so thick and full of body when it is a bit shorter! Length just tends to weigh it all down.
