i still say flame thrower

[note from GC: i still agree. it'd be easy. i've got gigglemom's oxygen tank and a lighter.]

hey baby. i haven't been up to date recently, SO sorry to hear about gigglemom! well, happy as it turns out. sounds like she's getting the help she needs. :)

I'm in florida right now as my mom goes through a radical masectomy. so far, the surgery seems to have gone well, so we're very cautiously optimistic.

get that house clean girl. it'll make you feel like a million! always better to have to apologize after the fact (ripping up the carpets) than to have to deal with them still. all that clutter and must isn't going to be good for either one of you healthwise. good luck!

[note from GC: thanks, neil. wow, my thoughts and prayers are going out to your mom --- hope all is okay.]

Have you thought about getting one of the storage bins that get put into your front yard, load them up, which would clean out the house and then go through the bins one by one?

I feel for you - I know this is not easy and with work and not feeling good, what you are doing is the last thing you want to do right now.

[note from GC: thanks - i live in a condo, so the rules don't allow for that. but the dumpster isn't all that far away. i've filled it halfway so far today.]

Have you ever checked out the Fly Lady? It is a pretty interesting system (free) to help people with this problem. http://www.flylady.com/ I'm in the process of getting back into using her system and I've already accomplished a ton. Good Luck with your declutter/clean-up and I hope your mom comes home stronger than ever. :)

[note from GC: yep. thanks. been a member of flylady since 2002. have the "sink reflections" book too. and it does work. it's just that this got out of control and became an overwhelming cycle]

Looks like a big job ahead. Great website and a fun blog. If you don't mind, I'd like to stop by and visit again from time to time ;-)

[note from GC: stop by anytime!!]

hahah, I like how looking at the sliding door in the back, the "before" appears to be bright and sunny, the "middle" is getting dark and the "after" is pitch-black, (prob. 2am is my guess).

[note from GC: it was midnight --- says so on the photo when you click it]

You did a great job cleaning out that dining room. You're half way there so keep at it! I know it must be difficult to throw stuff away because there's always some kind of memory or emotional attachment to everything but didn't it feel good to see some open space on your table??

Good luck with the rest of the decluttering.
