So, I happened upon THIS article on msnbc:
Strokes among middle-aged women triple
this is HORRIBLE NEWS!!!
i mean really!
oh i am not talking about the strokes... I am talking about this little chestnut tucked away within the article:
Nearly 2 percent of women ages 35 to 54 reported suffering a stroke in the most recent federal health survey, from 1999 to 2004.
what the FARK!!!!???
"ages 35 to 54"... is *gulp* "middle aged"???????
i am 37 (thirty-eight in june)
i am so NOT middle aged.
i mean, really.
come on.

Whatchoosayin'?? (9 yapped)
The end of that range is middle aged, not the beginning.
2% still seems high. I might believe 15% if the range was those "old" people with ages between 19 and 100!

good i'm still middle age and not old. i have 6 more years before i am deemed old. so why can't I retire at 54 and not 66 and 10mos? if that's when i will be old (per the bean counters).. have It's a bunch of malarkey...they came up with those numbers when my grandma was young, back in 1919. You know, when the life expectancy was shorter, due to poor diet, no antibiotics, no steroids in your food..all that healthy food..no good cosmetic surgeons, etc...
I WILL NEVER BE MIDDLE AGED...I WILL BE FOREVER YOUNG...TO HELL WITH THEM ALL..

Just turned 38 in January...personally, I think that middle age is always 5 years older than whatever age I am. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it:)

Hey Erin!
Congratulations on becoming middle aged! LOL! I remember when I was a little girl of about 7 or 8 and I thought FOR SURE my mom would die of old age before I graduated from high school and she was actually only about 30.
I googled it and came up with answers ranging pretty much between 25 and 75. So you can start YOUR middle age whenever you want!
Julie
[note from GC: thanks. i think i will start it when i am 90]
