am gathering all of my tax stuff together and have a 3pm appointment with an accountant (my cousin recommended this guy)
somehow in the rubble of my house, i was able to find the receipts for my big ass monitor, my laptop, my creative suite purchase and some other stuff. so hopefully that will help a little bit.
i don't save many receipts. i need to start doing that. *sigh*
on a telephony note, i had upgraded my phone (no. i didn't get a treo... alas, i miss my old treo. but since i am not commuting anymore and am usually near a computer, it really wasn't necessary.)
i got a green LG enV --- basically because of the qwerty keyboard. i mean, i don't text all that often, but i think it's because i found it frigging annoying and tedious to use the regular phone keypad for my alphabet.
we'll see how it is. i had a samsung 990a up until yesterday and while the actual phone part was decent, the phone annoyed the hell out of me. i went through 2 batteries within a year and the thing would die within 2 hours. which was ridiculous.
anyway... gotta go find my 2006 tax stuff (i think i have it in an actual accordian style filing box. i hope.) seeing as i had to chat with the IRS on monday because one of my clients didn't send me a 1099 last year but they did report stuff to the irs. thus, leaving me with the irs growling at me and hunting me down for $5097 - so i am on a payment schedule with them about that....
cross your fingers that this accountant is a smart cookie (supposedly he used to work for the irs.)
i keep screening my phone calls from HR Block. they keep calling (actually the woman that helped me the past couple of years was okay.)

Good luck with the taxes. I still have to get mine done as well. I have been carrying it all around with me for over a week now but just haven't found it in myself to part with the cost of preparation, lol. Ahhhhh, such is the life of a procrastination queen, lol.

Good luck with your new taxman! And yes, start saving those receipts! put them in your tax file folder and voila` they will be ready for you next year!
