got in a little while ago from going out for drinks and dinner with my friends Fran & Jude.
went to Moonstruck in Asbury Park.
I'd only been there once before (November 2004. last date with some guy who i think was named Mike. honestly i forget. i dated him for 2 months.)
anyway, the place has fantastic food (as I mentioned in the nov. 2004 post)
tonight, i started with (okay, i started with some sort of white wine. it was white, cold and had alcohol... so it was a very good year.)
anyway, i started with the asparagus salad (grilled asparagus over baby greens with sliced romano cheese and pignoli nuts)
followed by the entree of shrimp and scallop risotto (Shrimp & Scallop Risotto, Chopped Tomato, Shallots, Garlic, Lemon, White Wine and Herbs ...) --- i've found that after watching a few seasons of Hell's Kitchen, I have ordered risotto anytime I see it on a menu. man i loves me some rice.
then i ordered a limoncello after dinner drink (how shall i describe it....???? um... it's as if you are sipping on ice cold Lemon Pledge Furniture Polish. good stuff.)
Had coffee to go with the desserts that we shared...
some sort of "New Orleans" sort of thing they called it. It was coffee ice cream, pecans, a meringue , whipped cream and something else...
but, i tucked into the papaya cheesecake moreso (it was SO good. SO light & fluffy. yummmmmm!)
jude had the 5 cheese ravioli with Porcini Mushroom Sauce & Crumbled Gorgonzola (tasted it. awesome and i don't even like mushrooms)
and fran had the Roast Duck in an Orange Grand Marnier Sauce (holy smokes! that was tasty.)
it was just great all around.
and this time, no fighting with a guy I was dating.
so, that was Moonstruck. If you are in the area, I highly recommend going. It can be a tad on the pricey side, but it's WELL worth it (be prepared to wait for a table. they don't accept reservations.)
this has been "The Chat n' Chew with Gigglechick!"

Whatchoosayin'?? (1 yapped)
Darn it... You made me hungry.
