That is one of the worst things that I have ever seen. We've had 2 incidents similar to this in the last few weeks in AZ, where an individual has walked onto the freeway, been struck (several times) & killed. I can't imagine what the drivers were thinking as they hit them/drove by, why didn't they stop?
Ok, this appears to be a 2-way street with a double yellow or white line down the center, why do those two cars cross the double line? It almost seems as if they were "aiming" for him! I don't know about traffic laws in Connecticut, but in Texas, you DO NOT cross a double line regardless of the color. I feel sorry for the old guy, it also appears he was looking both ways before crossing. I hope they can enhance the video to get the douche-bags who hit him!
[note from GC: according to the news reports the first car that hit him was being chased by the second car that REALLY mauled the old guy]
It's absolutely horrendous....what is wrong with people now days? I don't get it, it makes me sick too. I hope they catch both of those drivers and as for the people walking down the street or driving by, what is UP WITH THAT???!!!! Surely someone should have gone out there next to him to let him know help was on the way and to block traffic so another car wouldn't run him over!!! :( People disgust me!
In this day and age of frivilous lawsuits, everyone is afraid to get involved. Pulling over and calling the police on your cell phone anonymously seems to be all that people are willing to do...
We were in a restaurant while on vacation a few years ago and one of the waitresses collapsed. The restaurant wasn't that packed, but no one, not even the people at the table whose orders she just took, got up to help her. They just sat there throughout the whole episode. I was sitting on the other side of the restaurant with my back to what had happened. I heard a scream and a crash but my wife saw the waitress fall down and told me about it. I walked across the restaurant to make sure she was OK. It wasn't anything serious. Turns out it was her first day on the job and she was a bit nervous and just blacked out for a minute. She started laughing and blushing because she was more embarrassed than injured. I helped her to a booth and the manager gave her some water from a table of people who were sitting there just watching. But I couldn't believe that no one else bothered to come over to help her. The manager thanked me and offered us our breakfast for free.
Whatchoosayin'?? (6 yapped)
