well, i went to the ww meeting at 12:30pm today.
the leader seems FANTASTIC! she's my age and apparently had lost 123 pounds back in 2003. very funny and down to earth. had a one on one chat with her after the meeting.
then i went to saladworks and got a bucket of lettuce, feta, black olives, cucumbers, low fat balsamic and sunflower seeds.
so they say to think about losing the weight in chunks... okay, really they say "look toward losing your 10%"
which since i'm 219.8, that would mean that I would want to lose 21 pounds. which would bring me down to 198.8 (if i did a 5% goal, that'd bring me to 209.3)
anyway, so, once down to 198.8, then if i lose another 10% that'd be 19 pounds... bringing me down to 179.8
then 10% off of that would bring me down to 162.8.... another 10% gets me to the goal weight of 146.8
i can do it. it'll be a bit of a long road to hoe, probably about a year. but it's feasible.
i know it is. always have known it is. i am just hoping that GM doesn't start whining for hot fudge sundaes or donuts (because i am the one who has to run out for them) -- she's starting to come around a little bit by saying she "might" go to the meeting next week. i hope so.

Whatchoosayin'?? (5 yapped)
i was looking at ww's website last week. i am starting to think it might be the way to go. and thinking in 10% increments makes it seem a lot more doable.

When I went to visit my folks in Florida in December I weighed the most I ever had. 249! I was a butterball. So, when I got back here I decided to just cut out all the sugary sodas and replace with water, crystal light (or their wonderful poor generic cousins) and diet drinks.
Also, I decided to not stuff myself. I would just eat until that hungry feeling was gone.
Know what happened? Without changing anything else? I am now at 191. First time I have seen a 1 beginning anything to do with my weight in 10+ years.
Oh, and I also walk everywhere I can. Grocery store, taking photographs to show on Flickr etc. With the gas prices the way they are, this hasn't been hard to motivate myself into doing.
I still want 60+ lbs to go, but if I can do it (as lazy as I am) you certainly can do it! lol Good luck!

Hey...
Congrats on getting on the WW bandwagon! I'm a member myself - 4.4 lbs from goal after losing 121.6 lbs in a couple years on ww. It is a long-haul, but totally worth it! I've never in my life been able to buy clothes wherever I wanted to and now I can. I see pictures of myself now and instead of thinking ugh! and throwing them away, I think wow! is that me? I wish you the best of luck in your journey and know that you're not alone. YOU CAN DO IT!
