so, earlier tonight i went to the wake of the mother of a friend of mine from high school.
i get so damned nervous at viewings/wakes.
it was great to see him, albeit not under the best of circumstances. hadn't seen him in a few years - probably 2000 and before that, 1996. (I'd forgotten that we'd hung out a few times when we both lived up north --- actually, that's not true, i was still living in 'squan and he was up in bayonne and we all had gone out drinking in the city --- wow... just remembered that we went to a cowboy mouth concert... geez, my memory is like a sieve. but when we got back to Bayonne, the olympics were on and it was the night that that bomb went off in Atlanta. ah, memories.]
anyway. stayed briefly, got the cliff notes version of what's been going on for the past 8 years and told him to give me a call if he ever wanted to talk.
(yeah. me. the good friend who forgot that i'd palled around with him a few times since high school. man. i know they say "Empty your cup", but sometimes, it's like i have a hole in the bottom of it and it's emptying out stuff I would like to remember. )
oh well. anyway. went there, then came home and did some work and had a lovely bowl of Irish Breakfast Oatmeal for dinner (which tasted great... even though I was defying the gods and eating "breakfast" oatmeal at 8:30pm)
have to head to WW at noon thirty and see how Week One went. I think it's been going fine. I know I've lost a little something... so. we'll see.
I've been journaling my points and all that and have stuck to them pretty well (barring tuesday's fried egg pizza and gelato -- which were worth it.) - I've been drinking tons of water over the past week (more than I usually do)
so, we'll see.
OH!! i forgot to mention (and it'll be short because I'm tired and want to hit the hay) do you remember a couple of weeks ago when i said that my gym caught fire?
The place is now CLOSED for 3 to 6 months and they aren't charging me my monthly fee. cool.
cooler still is they have agreements with a bunch of OTHER gyms in the area that will let me work out without paying.
maybe i should take advantage of this opportunity...
they're re-vamping the gym now so it'll be "state of the art" (so they say...)
state of the art to me would be where they knock me out, throw me on a machine and just make my body work out without having to remember or deal with exercise...
and yes you are probably thinking "remember? um, GC, you just went through a whole diatribe saying how poor your memory is"...
yeah, well... i forgot.

Welcome to the YapFest (4 yapped)
