gigglemom has an infection in her sutures and has to go back to the surgeon on wednesday (she's still in the rehab --- and there've been "accidents" with the bag where the "stuff" has gotten into her stitches. yuck. so now there's an infection. hopefully all will be okay.)
on the insane drunken cousin front... he's still in the hospital... apparently in the ER in one of the bays... and it's guarded... oh... and it's now QUARANTINED.
yes. you read that right. guarded and quarantined... because apparently NOW since he was in the ER with a busted up face that had open wounds, he now has contracted MRSA
MRSA... it's that staph infection that's pretty deadly.
now gigglemom is wondering if SHE can contract MRSA at the rehab since it's spread in hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers.
what the hell? WHEN did my life become a really cheesy episode of ER?

Insist that anyone who has "hands-on" contact with GM while she has an active infection wear sterile gloves! Not the ones that just pop up out of the box. Sorry to hear that your cousin is in such horrible shape. I realize it was brought on by himself, but still, he's family. I'll keep all y'all in my prayers!

Word to the wise .. there SHOULD BE a sanitary hand station at the doorway to GM's room. ENSURE that EVERY time a nurse comes in, they USE IT BEFORE and AFTER they leave!! If you see them ignore the sanitary handcreme .. by all means TELL THEM .. it's your right and your moms life. ( pls excuse the bold type .. read on ) I almost lost MY sweetie to a staph infection because of (we found out later) unsanitary procedures by the nursing staff. She walked around for 16 weeks with a pressurized ball of vancomiacin in her arm once a day.

KaaZaam, God offs Krazy Kenny and GM is sure to be ok. How better to than NATURAL causes to thin down the wackos in the family woodpile. Lessens the guilt after maybe having to beat them to death with the pillow case filled with canned peas. Justice done... lmao

I just read the long and winding post and this one and I am speechless for the first time in my life. Holy Heck you've had to deal with a lot of crap this year... yay happy effing new year to you! I think you are destined for sainthood for not completely going off on your cousin. Hang in there sister, everything is bound to get better!
