i need to write on here a bit more... it's not the death of gigglechick.com

i've been pretty down lately about stuff --- can't quite snap out of my funk... i'm trying though. i really am.

because of said funk (and what it pertains to) i haven't really felt like writing on here much... sure, i post quick snippets on facebook, but, it's not long-winded diatribes kvetching about what's happening... they're more short little hyperventilation kvetches.

i need to update the open mic section of my site... to those attempting to find mics on there... my apologies. i've slacked on that section. i need to prune the eff out of it and also add new mics. *hanging my head in shame*

anyway.... that said, i need to sleep (that's all i feel like doing... well... besides eating.)

DAY 1.

okay... i want to blame my weight on the box of scalloped potatoes that i ate at 11pm last night... but, i think it's also the billion pierogies that i've eaten over the past 38 years.

anyhoooo... i've been following comedian Rob Cioffi in his weight loss journal "Body For Laughs"... and figured i'd be brave enough to post the video clips of me as well

BMI: 37.2

this is the heaviest i've ever been. any chance that my camera weighs 70 pounds?

*** this was the 3rd attempt at the video clip... why? because my effing BELLY was in the shot for the other two... i was like "what the hell is that? oh sweet jeezuz! it's my stomach!!!"

on a brighter note, my friend The Other Erin and I are going to run (by "run" I mean "walk") the Fool's Run 5k in Manasquan at 11am

SOMEONE WIRE MY JAW SHUT, PLEASE.

okay so, yesterday was the 5k Fool's Run in manasquan. i wound up finishing 7th... from last. did it in 53 minutes. yeah yeah. i know.

anyway... as you know, i posted the horrifying "scale video" yesterday... then i did the 5k... then after the race, we wound up drinking --- i haven't drank since mid-December... 5 or 6 beers (Miller Lites in a small plastic race mug) later, we went to Pete & Elda's for pizza... it's uber-thin crust pizza for those not in the know.

we ordered 2 XXL pies with green peppers.

my friend ate 4 slices. I finished the rest... and received 2 t-shirts :}

ANYWAYYYYYY... not for nothing, i have "my friend" visiting me now today (not the one that i did the race with) and after all that pizza and beer... well... i lost 5 pounds since yesterday.

don't worry, i'm not about to go on a pizza and beer diet (*oh, to dream of such a thing)

so, today, while the breakfast wasn't a stellar option (i cooked bacon and eggs), i tried to curb the intake the rest of the day.

GIGGLECHICK FAT OFF - 2009:NEKKID ON THE SCALE

I'll have my "Official" weigh-in on Saturday... Saturday I DID walk the Fool's Run 5k (3.1 miles) but then went nuts with beer and 2 xxl pizzas (thin crust... not that that should matter)

Sunday I did okay with the scarfing down of the food. Did have a hearty breakfast, but, didn't go apeshite the rest of the day with shoveling everything down my gullet. opted for apples and an orange at certain points throughout the day...

we'll see how it goes.

this morning i had 2 slices of Aunt Jemima Frozen French Toast and a wee bit of lite syrup. which was a better option than the thousand pieces of bacon and baskets of eggs i've been having every morning lately.

I'm heading to the gym in a little while to do some cardio on the elliptical, treadmill and stationary bike...

GIGGLECHICK FAT OFF - 2009: BACK TO THE WORKOUT

headed back to the gym yesterday... learned how working out affects one's body. i'm not talking about minor aches and pains and sore muscles.

i had done 8 minutes and 15 seconds on the elliptical... yay! then i hopped on the treadmill fully expecting to walk for a full hour, then use the stationary bike.

that wasn't in the cards.

after 30 minutes on the treadmill, my stomach, nay, my intestines started gurgling... if i stayed on the machine i would've passed gas that would've made the gym clear out... plus i was starting to walk funny because i was clenching my butt cheeks together.

i called an audible and ended the workout then and there and went to the ladies' room

they really should call exlax to tell them all they need to do is bottle a workout and sell it because seriously i had some potty issues.

yes. i know. whatever. then i made it out of there alive and went home and had the same.

i read up on stuff about that, and apparently, exercise actually stimulates the colon. you would've thought i had just run a marathon with the way my colon was stimulated then.

yeah yeah... i AM talking about poop here.

in any event...

yesterday at the gym...

ELLIPTICAL: 8:15 min | .56 miles | 73 cal

TREADMILL: 30:00 min | 1.51 miles | 228 cal


today i just went to the gym and worked out --- sans feces.

ELLIPTICAL: 9:00 min | .67 miles | 81 cal

TREADMILL: 60:00 min | 3.52 miles | 469 cal

STATIONARY BIKE: 15:36 min | 3.5 miles | 80 cal


i'm going to grab a roll of toilet paper and wait....

went to the gym. kicked butt today (at least, i feel i did.)

ELLIPTICAL: 10 min. | .68 miles | 88 cal

TREADMILL: 61:40 min | 2.91 miles | 600 cal (incline btwn 4.0 and 8.0%)

STATIONARY BIKE: 4:16 min | 1 mile | 23 cal

granted, i only did 1 mile on the bike today, i had planned on doing 3.5 miles, but, i'd just gotten off the treadmill and was dying.

FITNESS BALL WALL SQUATS: 3 sets | 12 reps


and i've been pretty good with the food today too.

GIGGLECHICK FAT OFF: OFFICIAL WEIGH IN #2 - 04.11.09

Okay... well, this is promising!

My original weight on April 4th was 230.7 (yeah. i know, but, i'm doing something about it now, okay?!)

Today, my BMI is 36.1 (last week it was 37.2 - so already, we've got some progress going on.)

I didn't get to the gym on Friday because I was running errands all day... I don't foresee getting there today because I've got to cook a whole bunch of stuff to bring to Aunt Toni's tomorrow for Easter (and definitely can't go there on Easter)

what do I have to cook? tons of healthy stuff!

Sweet Potatoes
Lemon Bars
2 Dozen Cupcakes
Strawberry Pie

yeah. nothing but temptations.

Gigglemom said we'd bring that stuff and I am the one who cooks it.

Anywayyyyyy.... I've been eating a lot better - not "stellar" but, I haven't had a pierogie in over a week. *sigh*

I HAVE, however, been eating oranges every day... which I really hadn't been incorporating too many fruits & veggies into my diet in forever.

that said... tune in next Saturday for Weigh-in #3!!

SWEATY MACFURKLE LIVES!!

i just returned from working out at the gym for an hour and 45 minutes. my right knee seems to be contemplating going on strike again. Negotiations will begin shortly.

It's pouring rain out and it seems t have a little bit of small hail... I'm debating whether or not to run outside and cover Phooka with a comforter...

If one looked at me right now, they would think that I had been standing in the rain for 2 hours... I am gross & sweaty from working out right now (yes, i had to change to dry, unstinky clothes... the shower will follow shortly... oh man, that's gonna be one sweet & wonderful shower!)

because my hair is so short, it gets drenched pretty quickly from working out. actually, I don't mind that at all.

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter or Passover....

I need to go grab a trough of water....

okay, it's not from what you think, you sick perverted freaks!

my heinie and my legs are aching --- i guess technically, i should say my "glutes" rather than arse.

yesterday (Thursday) i hit the gym:

STATIONARY BIKE:
28:37 minutes | 6.0 miles | 142 calories

ELLIPTICAL:
13:24 minutes | 1.00 miles | 121 calories

TREADMILL:
20:01 minutes | 1.00 miles | 172 calories
(incline between 5.3% and 7.0%)

so, i did 6 miles on the bike --- before last night, the furthest that i'd gone was 3.5 miles...

i also did the elliptical the furthest and most minutes that i've done so far. so, I'm pretty happy about both of those...

(first i'd done the elliptical... usually i follow that up with the treadmill, then the bike, but i went elliptical, bike, then treadmill... i think that's why i did the 6 miles because i wasn't dead.

then i did only 20 minutes on the treadmill which turned out to be a mile on the incline.


THEN.... today I headed to the gym as well...

ELLIPTICAL:
14:01 minutes | 1.04 miles | 125 calories

STAIRMASTER:
12:56 minutes | .57 miles | 27 floors | 34 steps/min. | 103.9 calories


STATIONARY BIKE:
21:37 minutes | 4.5 miles | 119 calories


FITNESS BALL SQUATS:
2 sets | 12 reps


MEDICINE BALL AB TWISTS:
4 sets | 15 reps


extremely sweaty workout --- who would've thought that walking kinda slow up the steps on the stairmaster that i would nearly drown myself.

feeling good. not sure if i'll lose that much by tomorrow (with easter and food laying around the first half of the week was not exactly "perfect")

i'm not terribly upset about the results... although, i'm not ecstatic. but, after the baking ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/gigglechick ) that I did last saturday for Easter Sunday... and the chow-fest that happened on Sunday... Monday... Tuesday.... I'm okay with it.

THE GIRLS ARE SCREAMING.

so, 2 weeks ago, I went off the Anti-Baby Vitamins (Loestrin Fe 28) --- because I don't have health insurance anymore (basically because I was paying other bills and couldn't afford the $300/month for the insurance... and without insurance, the pill was $60/month) plus I figured that I haven't needed the damned things in months... other than to see what day it was.

So, I went off 'em.

Over the past 3 days The Girls have been KILLING ME. seriously. It's almost like they felt like when I was getting them at 13 years old and having growing pains and hormone craziness.

No idea what I can do... I am hunched over 90% of the day so my shirt isn't touching them. Don't even mention the word "bra" --- OW! jeezuz.

I haven't been able to go to the gym in a few days because it's unbearable... although i MIGHT attempt to go later to see if exercising might help get the blood and endorphins flowing so that there's some relief.

I googled "sore breasts" and everything I read has to do with breastfeeding... um... not for nothing, but, yeah, that hasn't happened. [UPDATE: I googled some more and found something called mastalgia]

I'm thinking I need to go to the pharmacy and pick up giant band-aids to slap on 'em... either that or head to a stripper's warehouse and get some protective pasties.

well, because I won't be around much tomorrow, I opted to weigh in a day early (my normal weigh-in day is Saturday for those keeping score.)

So this is weigh-in number 4... When I started on April 4th, I was 230.7 pounds

This week I haven't been to the gym at all... wanted to go, but, since The Girls were absolutely KILLING me, there was no way (update on them: I've been shoving cabbage into my bra at night to help ease the pain. yes. it works. there's anti-inflammatory properties in cabbage)

In any event... last week I was 223.5

FOOD POISONING, ANYONE?

food poisoning  anyone?

my cousin brought food over last week when he moved in and put these in the freezer. I just put them in the trash.

so, this meat was around when the twin towers were still standing, the chicken was here when Bill Clinton was still Prez and the pork was from before we went to war with Iraq.

I wasn't even in my 30's and hadn't gone to Ireland and I was at my first web design job when that chicken was purchased.
