I'M RUNNING A MARATHON
okay... first let me update y'all. Gigglemom was in the hospital for 2 weeks. she's home. doing better. back to smoking. good for her. (yes. the last bit was sarcasm)
I've decided that I am going to run a marathon before I turn 40 on June 21, 2010.
There's a Jersey Shore Marathon in May... that gives me 6 months.
To catch you up, I'm posting my facebook status updates from the past few days to let you know how the training is going.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett is getting a marathon bee in her bonnet again... i've wanted to run one before I turn 40 (next june) --- think i'm going to train for the NJ Marathon which is May 2nd --- http://www.njmarathon.org

Erin Gigglechick Bennett just looked for my old copy of Dawn Dais "The Nonrunner's Marathon Guide for Women - Your guide to get you from recliner to race day" - it's under the clutter somewhere - 2 copies, in fact... I DID, however, find an 8 year old stick of Bodyglide and an EMPTY 2008 Runner's Day-by-Day Log & Calendar. I need to find socks.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett just woke up -- didn't fall asleep till 7am (think I bought some faulty nyQuil) --- DID, however, find my sneakers & Day 1 running/jogging/stumbling gear... need to locate socks still. THEN it's Go Time.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett --- okay, found the socks. unfortunately, I also found a pork roll sammich at Manhattan Bagel and that was paired nicely with my couch. Day 2 tomorrow... I have all the clothes & ipod prepped and ready...

Erin Gigglechick Bennett stopped by best buy to pick up a new nike ipod contraption for my shoe & they've got a blood drive going on. $20 gift card for donors. The ipod thing is $29... I'm gonna donate my O positive goods.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett Day 2 of Marathon Training: Loaded up on Carbs today and have placed the nike+ thing in my sneaker ---- am in the middle of stretching... on the couch.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett Marathon Training - evening of Day 2 : watched Biggest Loser & ate a pint of Haagen Daz Butter Pecan Ice Cream. Tomorrow, I jog (and possibly buy a better sports bra so I don't poke an eye out.)

Erin Gigglechick Bennett Marathon Training - Day 3: Had leftover tortellini with vodka sauce for breakfast. Will put on sneakers and go stumble around the Brick Reservoir shortly.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett MARATHON TRAINING - Day 3 - The First Workout: Okay. Jogged & Walked around the Reservoir (using the Couch 2 5K podcast) finished and realized I lost my car keys somewhere on the other side of the reservoir. Some dude found them and gave them back, thankfully. Next workout is Friday.
