well, thought i'd post this quick "Don't forget to 'RABBIT RABBIT' first thing in the morning" reminder...

FEBRUARY shall be more productive with the blogging (although I've been saying this for months, haven't I???)

I'm sitting here watching out the window for the postaldude.
I see his truck... but he's roaming around the condo complex delivering packages... then he's gonna go to the 3 other groups of mailboxes before he hits our section.

I'm waiting on 3 checks that are hopefully supposed to arrive today... and the growly collector at my credit union is giving me till noon to make payments on my car... till noon.

and that's IF the checks actually come today.

it's been really rough financially lately - sure I bought the droid, but it was reeeeeelly reduced because of the upgrade eligibility.

this is the one thing that absolutely sucks about being self employed... the waiting for checks, the invoicing/begging for them to be sent.

so, hopefully I won't have an empty mailbox today and I won't have to outrun the repo man (who looks nothing like emilio estevez)

Well, hopefully I'll be posting more on my blog... why? What has changed?

I am now the proud owner of a motorola droid (or giggledroid as I've renamed it)

I installed the pixelpipe application on it and that allows me to post to my blog.

Seriously, this phone is amazing thus far.

For those of you who've been reading this blog since back in the day... when I would post from my old palm treo, I'm baaaaack! (The only thing missing is a 2 hour commute to work so I can rant about freaks on the train)

Hopefully this will be a new beginning for gigglechick.com inspiration. Yayyy new gadget!

TUMBLEWEED, TUMBLEWEED...

okay, i ran over here from my goofy facebook vacuum and needed to post a quick "Rabbit, Rabbit" for the random stragglers that I still have roaming through gigglechick.com hither and tither...

i keep saying that i'll start posting more... and i am sure at some point i will again. it's just that life has been bland and boring (and apparently redundant)

i'm either taking gigglemom to the hospital or rehab, fetching her from the hospital or rehab, whining about her smoking again, kvetching about gaining weight, talking for a week or so about working out, yapping about how much i've eaten, yammering about how good i'm doing on weight watchers, moaning about eating 384 ww points in one sitting or posting about pets or people who've died.

i don't get out much.

i AM, however, still designing websites (yay!) and have kickass clients (woo!) so the "not getting out much" helps with that :}

i've been toying with getting back onstage... we'll see. (see above: fat) i just need to get in a better frame of mind.

speaking of fat... somehow i have a fat lip tonight. great.

ANYWAY... i just wanted to remind my rolling tumbleweeds to shout "Rabbit Rabbit" first thing when you wake up on Dec. 1st.

I'M RUNNING A MARATHON

okay... first let me update y'all. Gigglemom was in the hospital for 2 weeks. she's home. doing better. back to smoking. good for her. (yes. the last bit was sarcasm)

I've decided that I am going to run a marathon before I turn 40 on June 21, 2010.

There's a Jersey Shore Marathon in May... that gives me 6 months.

To catch you up, I'm posting my facebook status updates from the past few days to let you know how the training is going.

NOV 1, 2009 -

Erin Gigglechick Bennett is getting a marathon bee in her bonnet again... i've wanted to run one before I turn 40 (next june) --- think i'm going to train for the NJ Marathon which is May 2nd --- http://www.njmarathon.org
Sun at 4:54pm

Erin Gigglechick Bennett just looked for my old copy of Dawn Dais "The Nonrunner's Marathon Guide for Women - Your guide to get you from recliner to race day" - it's under the clutter somewhere - 2 copies, in fact... I DID, however, find an 8 year old stick of Bodyglide and an EMPTY 2008 Runner's Day-by-Day Log & Calendar. I need to find socks.
Sun at 7:05pm

NOV 2, 2009 -

Erin Gigglechick Bennett just woke up -- didn't fall asleep till 7am (think I bought some faulty nyQuil) --- DID, however, find my sneakers & Day 1 running/jogging/stumbling gear... need to locate socks still. THEN it's Go Time.
Mon at 2:45pm

Erin Gigglechick Bennett --- okay, found the socks. unfortunately, I also found a pork roll sammich at Manhattan Bagel and that was paired nicely with my couch. Day 2 tomorrow... I have all the clothes & ipod prepped and ready...
Mon at 4:07pm

Erin Gigglechick Bennett stopped by best buy to pick up a new nike ipod contraption for my shoe & they've got a blood drive going on. $20 gift card for donors. The ipod thing is $29... I'm gonna donate my O positive goods.
Mon at 6:09pm

NOV 3, 2009 -

Erin Gigglechick Bennett Day 2 of Marathon Training: Loaded up on Carbs today and have placed the nike+ thing in my sneaker ---- am in the middle of stretching... on the couch.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett Marathon Training - evening of Day 2 : watched Biggest Loser & ate a pint of Haagen Daz Butter Pecan Ice Cream. Tomorrow, I jog (and possibly buy a better sports bra so I don't poke an eye out.)

NOV 4, 2009 -

Erin Gigglechick Bennett Marathon Training - Day 3: Had leftover tortellini with vodka sauce for breakfast. Will put on sneakers and go stumble around the Brick Reservoir shortly.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett MARATHON TRAINING - Day 3 - The First Workout: Okay. Jogged & Walked around the Reservoir (using the Couch 2 5K podcast) finished and realized I lost my car keys somewhere on the other side of the reservoir. Some dude found them and gave them back, thankfully. Next workout is Friday.

Erin Gigglechick Bennett MARATHON TRAINING - DAY 3; The Adrenaline & Insanity Kicks in: so I'm now thinking, hey, maybe I should start with a HALF marathon... but it's too cold in the winter. Maybe I could train & be ready for the Key West Half Marathon by Jan. 31, 2010 (my cousins live in the Keys.) INFO: http://virl.com/c09b0

BLUEBERI BUCKLE | April 16, 1995 - October 5, 2009

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

NOT REALLY GREAT NEWS.

so i haven't posted on here as often as i had planned after "committing" to the 30 day challenge that Fizzy posed.

for the past 18 days, Giggledog has not been well. started out with the skitters... then it was lack of appetite. took her to the vet, he gave Albon as a med and we kept an eye on Beri (giggledog)

a week went by and she still wasn't eating. so I took her back to the vet who put her on antibiotics and said that her teeth & gums were really infected and that she also has an epulis (which is a tumor) inside her mouth that is affecting how/what she eats.

so after a day or so on the antibiotic liquid (i had to use a syringe to get it down her throat) Beri started to eat a little bit and have a little spring back in her step. she was able to eat liverwust. it's soft.

then she stopped eating. even the soft stuff. nothing.

when she drinks water i've noticed that she's using the side of the bowl to try and get the water in her mouth and that most is going onto the floor - never was like that before.

anyway... today is day 18 of her being ill and I can tell she's lost more weight - she MUST be down to 6 pounds (that's what i'm guessing. maybe she's at 8 but that's being generous) --- i can feel her ribs and spine and she's just exhausted and sleeping 98% of the day - her norm was only 88%) and she's just listless.

tomorrow might be the most difficult day for me since August 25th, 2003 when I had to take Archie to the vet to have him put to sleep.

Beri is 14 years old. I know that, yeah, we could have the vet take out all of her teeth, but, there's a high probability that she would not even make it out of the anesthesia since she's so small and her age is up there.

and if she did... what kind of life is that for a dog? she's a tiny yorkie and wouldn't have teeth? it's not like she's a giant of a dog with strong gums to chaw on stuff.

yes... this is the part of the post where i am trying to tell myself it's for the best if I take her and have her put to sleep.

I keep telling myself about "Rainbow Bridge" and that Archie is up there waiting for her.

Also waiting is Doodles her predecessor --- my Yorkie that I had from age 10 till 1994. When she had congestive heart failure and I had to take her to the vet and make THE decision.

George my white cat died in my arms after having 76 mini-strokes late late at night in 1993 --- didn't have time to call the vet.

Puds - aka Puddy Tat - my cat that I had from my first Easter until I was 19. She wound up getting cancer and gigglemom had to take her to the vet.

Dawn - gigglemom's Sheltie who was 12 and had to be put down when I was 5

and Buck... my beloved Golden Retriever who used to steal my baby bottles --- who, after months of our old neighbour's kids setting off firecrackers in his pen when we weren't home, got scared out of his mind on July 4th, 1980 and dug out of the pool area (because the dog pen was being cleaned) and he ran onto highway 35 near Thurber's Fish Market and was hit by a car --- and a police officer shot him because he was in so much pain... I didn't find out that Buck had died until I got back from the Wall Fair and ran to the pool area for my dog and I turned around to see my uncle and my cousin carrying a very large black garbage back to the back yard. First time I'd ever seen my dad cry... it was that night that life began to unravel.

I know. that sounds harsh. but it was.

anyway... tomorrow, I fear, is going to be about Beri. my giggledog... my Blueberi Buckle...

I'll keep folks updated.

GETTING DOWN TO THE WIRE...

i'm sitting here typing when i SHOULD be scouring this hellhole of a house.

gigglemom is COMING HOME TOMORROW...

which is great. no, really, it's great... it's just that i've not really hunkered down and gotten this place back to rights as much as i should've

tonight, i've got to declutter the kitchen and the living room... they're getting there, it's just that it's slow-going... especially since I've had to take a breather after carrying really heavy boxes and tables up & down the stairs by myself...

the table i carried downstairs is the kitchen table of my aunt's that i'd had my computer on upstairs... it's now in the corner of the kitchen with the NEW computer that my neighbour gave me in exchange for my doing a website for him... (seeing as i've been working off my laptop since last october when my main desktop up and died... dead... was pining for the fjords. )

so, i've been slightly sidetracked by the setting up of the new machine --- and uploading my programs and such on it.

after i declutter, i've gotta shampoo/steam clean the carpet in the living room and on the stairs... not really looking forward to this... i am already exhausted.

(plus, Big Brother has the live eviction on tonight and following the show, it's the HOH endurance competition on the live feeds....)

stupid procrastination.

END O' THE MONTH...

really quick - just to post something....

first... DON'T FORGET to Rabbit Rabbit first thing tomorrow morning.

second... i didn't win the Mega Millions lottery (this time.)

third... i ate an entire XXL pizza (Kerry & I went to Pete & Elda's and ordered 2 XXLs) --- so since that happened I received yet another "Whole Pie Eater's Club" t-shirt (I should wear that to Weight Watchers this Thursday when I gain a billion pounds)

Yesterday, Giggleaunt Judy had a surprise party for my gigglecousin Kerry (who turns 40 on the 7th) --- so I was the "decoy" and took her to breakfast (IHOP) and then to church then back to her house where everyone was waiting for her.

So, I started yesterday morning off with 4 Harvest Nut & Grain Pancakes with a bucket of Butter Pecan syrup... and 4 pc of pork roll.

then ate at the party

i think i was okay on saturday... didn't go hog wild.

i'll get back on track tomorrow and wednesday...

and also go walking tomorrow and do those dang sit-ups

UNDER CONSTRUCTION...

yes. i am.

so, i weighed in at WW today. lost 0.8 pounds... not the whopping 6 pounder that i had last week, but after eating like an animal on Saturday at the BBQ, i'm kinda happy with it being on the losing side of the scale.

so, in total, since July 16th I've lost 9.4 pounds. ~~SEE?? ~~~>

yay!!

just did day two of that frigging sit up challenge.

set 1: 15
set 2: 18
set 3: 15
set 4: 15
set 5: 22

it's a bitch and a half, but, i have a feeling that if i keep up with the sit-ups, the abs might actually start to tone up.

OH!!! AT THE REHAB WITH GIGGLEMOM TODAY!!! ~~~ LOOK !! ~~~~>>>
