hmmm...isn't this interesting? um... remember my whining about my replacement bank card NOT showing up? yes. i have been growling about it for weeks now... blaming the bank, bitching at the tellers.... all that lovely stuff...

guess what...

i stayed home from work today, first off, because i have another dang cold...so i decided to - for some reason - give my apartment a bit of a scrub down (okay, for me, it's picking up papers and using the dust mop)

right near the door i am picking up envelopes and one is semi-heavy (postmarked jan 18) it's unmarked... generic if you will...something that i shove to the back of the pile and focus on my bills instead...

anyway, i open it before tossing it...

can you see where this is headed? yeah, exactly, Sherlock... it's the Debit Card. sitting there in all it's pale green glory just waiting to be used....

THIS happens ONE day after i get the SECOND replacement card... i am a jerk.

at least my apartment is clean.

so i stayed home from work, as i said, and i am trying to clean and watch t.v. and the construction guys are back in all their glory... i think they must have bought a new sledgehammer for groundhog's day... mother of gawd. excedrin anyone?

so that's ok... i am washing dishes and have my stereo on... looky there! all of a sudden the power goes out... "it'll just be a minute, ma'am"

3 hours later, no t.v., no radio, candles burning throughout my apartment, pillow over my head to squelch the banging - the lights and everything comes back on.

one MORE thing (because all i can do is complain right now since i have the flu or something) i wanted a 'bit' of light in my dark apartment whilst cleaning... so i opened my blinds... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzip...the first one is open...good good...

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzziipp..crack!~...shatter...OW!

the second blind - i must have pulled on too hard - because the darned thing cracked in half and came crashing down, knocking over a candle, splattering wax on my shin, and then fell on my toes...

today was a double shot of nyQuil day, i must say....

oh that's RIGHT!!! i am out of nyQuil. darn.
